The official program, organized by the government, began in the morning with a ceremonial cannon salute, followed by military parade and march-past displays that reflected national pride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony was attended by President Ram Chandra Paudel, Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Balen Shah, along with ministers and senior government officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, President Ram Chandra Paudel is scheduled to address the special ceremony. In previous years, the prime minister traditionally delivered the address; however, the government formally requested the president to speak this time, citing his role as the symbol of the republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Republic Day is observed every year on May 28 to commemorate the historic proclamation made on May 28, 2008, by Nepal\u2019s first elected Constituent Assembly, which officially ended the monarchy and established a federal democratic republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
