Have you estimated how much money goes out of the country every year from the tiles we use to beautify houses and residences? Due to increasing urbanization, the traditional way of building houses is gradually decreasing.
Due to urbanization, people’s needs and desires have changed. Due to this reason, an amount equal to 15 billion rupees is sent abroad annually from Nepal for the purchase of tiles. The department has statistics.

Keeping this reality in mind, Nepali industrialists have started producing tiles of international quality within the country. Prime Ceramics has started the production of ‘Prime Tile’ to achieve the industrialization policy taken by the government and to become self-sufficient in every sector.

Ashish Garg, Prashant Agarwal, businessmen who have been trading in Nepal for a long time by importing tiles and similar products have established Prime Ceramics Industry in Rautahat, Madesh Province.
Prime Ceramics President Garg informed that the industry, which was established with a total investment of two billion rupees, currently employs three hundred people. “We have established the industry with the idea that we should become industrialists, not traders anymore. The policy of the government has also supported this,” he said. “The aim is to create jobs within the country and keep the foreign currency in the country.”
Currently, most of the tiles in Nepal are imported from India. The managing director of the industry Agarwal informed that since tiles are made according to Nepali art and culture, their products will expand the market as well as address the national spirit.
Informing that the goal is to realize the dream of Nepali people to have a beautiful house and to promote Nepali products, he said that Prime Ceramics Industry has the capacity to produce one and a half million square feet of tiles every day.
According to Managing Director Agarwal, Nepali soil and Nepali cement are used domestically as almost 50% of the raw materials are cheaper than foreign tiles.
He says that behind the establishment of the industry established in 10 bigha area in Brindavan Municipality-6 of Rautahat, the experience of tile business has also worked for two decades. President Garg says that the industry aims to replace the import of tiles, prevent foreign currency outflow, and create employment. Garg, who is also an energy entrepreneur, requested the government to facilitate the businessmen even though the government’s policy is to increase production internally.
