Kathmandu: Nepal Police has opened applications to recruit 133,980 election police personnel to ensure safe, fair, and peaceful elections. The Human Resource Development Department of Nepal Police Headquarters said applications will be accepted from Friday until Magh 1, including public holidays.
Candidates can collect and submit forms at District Police Offices in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and other districts. Applicants must be 18–54 years old, literate, free of criminal convictions, not affiliated with any political party, physically and mentally healthy, and have no links to terrorist or destructive organizations.
Physical standards require male candidates to be at least 5 feet tall, chest 31–33 inches, and 50 kg, while female candidates must be at least 4 feet 10 inches tall and 42 kg.
The recruitment is for 40 days, with personnel receiving a daily allowance of Rs. 869, totaling Rs. 34,776. Food expenses will be provided directly to bank accounts, along with a one-time preparation allowance of Rs. 846 and a meal allowance of Rs. 1,200 for four days.
Police officials say the recruitment will strengthen election security, and the Armed Police Force is also preparing to recruit election personnel to reinforce safety measures.
